We record other achievements and sometimes our frustrations in South East Walker which comes with your copy of Walk magazine each quarter so do please look out for it. There is also a lot of material on the web site which is updated regularly, the walking routes being the most popular pages.\n\nYou will note in this issue quite a few references to our public rights of way volunteers, both celebrating the enormous amount of work they do and lamenting that we don't have enough of them. We recognise that we haven't given our volunteers as much attention as they deserve (because there aren't enough of us either) but we are trying to address this issue.\n\nWe held a very well-received meeting for our volunteers in Lenham in October when 35 people turned up to hear both our own speakers and those from Kent County Council's public rights of way team. Based on past experience, 35 is a good turnout and we think everyone found the meeting useful; but compared with a total of over 200 for all our footpath volunteers it is disappointing. We plan to hold another meeting in May to maintain the momentum we are trying to build up. We also plan to start producing regular newsletters, almost certainly online only, covering public rights of way matters.","contentHtml":"
