Barham

Start 10.00 from outside the Barham village store,  Post Office and Village Hall.  Please park considerately along the road – NOT in the car park which is intended for store customers, Village Hall users and the adjacent Bowls Club.

Our walk climbs out of the Valley via Derringstone and Railway Hill to reach Redgate Shaw and Covert Wood.  Our route through the wood will  then descend to cross Covet Lane before climbing again across Marley Lane to Marley Wood and then Pheasant Hall Road.  From here we’ll descend to Bishopsbourne, passing the old Railway Station and the Mermaid Inn. Our return will by via Kingston and Out Elmstead.

Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome – but there may be stiles along the way which are not dog-friendly and we are likely to encounter livestock in places.

Estimated return time is around 14.00.  Please bring plenty to drink and food if you wish – there will be a stop en route.
