Battle of Trafalgar from Victory Wood

This scenic walk includes ancient woodland, open countryside and coastal views, and an opportunity to explore the sculptures and tree planting associated with the Battle of Trafalgar. We will visit the Link Sculpture at the top of the ridge with fine views to the Isle of Sheppey and the Thames Estuary. We’ll also see some of the tribute planting for the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar and other landmarks relating to the Battle.

There is a long, steady uphill section early in the walk and the various grass paths can be waterlogged and muddy after periods of rain.

No stiles; dog-friendly

Refreshments after the walk at The Dove (Shepheard Neame pub/restaurant), Plum Pudding Lane, Dargate, ME13 9HB. The pub is four minutes’ drive from Victory Wood car park. To book lunch call 01227 751085 (last lunch booking is 15.30).
