Circular Walk from Staffhurst Wood
A brisk circular country walk from Staffhurst Wood, through Crowhurst and Lagham Manor to Tilburstow Hill where we join the Greensand Way and return to our start.
The first half of the walk will be very flat as we pass though fields and pastures and enjoy the peace and easy walking stopping briefly to admire the ancient Yew and interesting church at Crowhurst and the largest non-military moat in the South East at Lagham Place, an archaeological treasure trove of various occupants.
The second half sees us climbing up to a section of the Greensand Way at Tilburtstow Hill which we rarely visit, going through woodland and offering stunning views to the South and where we will take our picnic lunches.
We will continue on the Greensand Way past Leigh Place and through Tandridge before we will drop down through Foyle Farm and Earls Wood to our starting point, with the option of refreshing ourselves at the Grumpy Mole.
