Dover walk

Voted amongst one of Britain’s favourite walks, this is a linear 12 mile walk from Dover to Deal along the iconic famous White Cliffs. This route which is certainly one of the walk leaders favourites, follows much of the newly opened King Charles England Coast Path. We last did this one, as a group walk on a hot day in June 2023, so are most definitely overdue a return here, you won't want to miss it.

The stunning route heads from the station to the official start & finish of the North Downs Way on the seafront, before we start a steep ascent along Dame Vera Lynn Way, all in the shadow of Dover Castle. We pass through the White Cliffs Visitor Centre at Langdon Cliffs, where there are toilets if needed, before we head along the cliff-top path.

Our route continues past South Foreland Lighthouse, where there are also toilets, and we will also probably take a short break at this point, cakes & ice cream anyone? On reaching St Margaret's Bay a pub stop is likely at the popular Coastguard pub, whilst our picnic lunch will take place somewhere en route.

The route then continues through Kingsdown, before dropping down to Walmer and eventually back to Deal Station. There are further pub opportunities, at either The Rising Sun or the Zetland Arms, when we drop down to sea level.
