Evening Walk - Wickhambreaux, Seaton Mill, Ickham, Garrington Farm Littlebourne

A gentle 5.8-mile summer evening circuit through the quiet villages and water meadows of the Little Stour valley, starting and finishing at the Rose Inn in Wickhambreaux.

From the Rose Inn we head east past Seaton Mill, following the Little Stour before turning into Ickham, one of the prettiest villages in the area with its timber-framed cottages and ancient church. The route then swings south-west across open farmland towards Lee Priory and down to Garrington Farm, with long views over the valley in the warm evening light. We cross the Nailbourne near Lower and Upper Garrington Farm and loop back up through Littlebourne before returning along the meadows to Wickhambreaux.

Mostly level field paths, farm tracks and short lengths of quiet lane, with a few stiles and the odd footbridge. Dry and easy going underfoot at this time of year. A lovely walk to catch the long summer sunset over the Stour, and we will finish back at the Rose Inn for drinks afterwards, so do stay on for a chat.
