Follow the River Wandle

This is a linear walk (9.2 miles),  starting 11am  outside Wandsworth Town Station. Final destination Carshalton Ponds (nearest station Carshalton Station 10mins walk).

A moderately flat walk. We follow the river Wandle nature trail through a series of parks, nature reserves, and wetlands.  We will pass Merton Hall Park, site of William Morris and Libertys printing factory.

Lunch will be at Merton Abbey Mills where there are a choice of places to eat, including William Morris Pub, Watermill Café, Willow Bough Tea Room to name but a few. Plenty of places to have a packed lunch. In the afternoon we continue through to Ravensbury Park, Watermeade Nature reserve and onto Carshalton Ponds where this walk ends.
