Lavender at Lullingstone; Samuel Palmer's Shoreham

We ascend (steeply) from Shoreham Station and emerge from the woods to the full glory of the lavender fields at Castle Farm, where we can pick up a coffee. Meandering beside the River Darent, we pass Lullingstone Castle, World Garden and Roman Villa before entering the ancient woodland of Lullingstone Park and Golf Course. We pick up the Samuel Palmer Trail to return to Shoreham, the artist's 'valley of vision' with a possibility of refreshments at the eponymous pub.
