Leysdown and Harty Marshes - Isle of Sheppey Circular

We will walk along the promenade and shingle to the hamlet of Shellness (which has historically been known as a home for smugglers). We then head south-west through the Harty marshes bird sanctuary. The bird hide here is open to the public so bring small binoculars to view ducks, geese and raptors. Bring a packed lunch to eat at St Thomas's church before returning via Capel Fleet bird observatory past Elliotts farm. Head north-east following the Capel Fleet waterways via PROWS over fields back to Leysdown.
