The Medway Valley from Teston - River, Orchards, Bridges and the "3Ps"

A "figure of 8" walk along the Medway Valley, mostly on flat footpaths with some short sections on quiet roads and 3 short but fairly steep inclines. Starting at Teston Country Park, we will follow the Medway Valley walk to Barming where we will then climb away from the river and pass through orchards and the rural landscape towards Little Fant Farm. From here, the route continues down back to the river and a return to Teston, past East Farleigh Lock and Bridge (which has been described as the finest Medieval bridge in the South of England). We will cross the river at Barming Bridge with views both up and down the water before the lane rises steadily, bordered by hedgerows and glimpses back across the valley. Then back across the rural landscape - where the 3 Ps will be explained! - and over Teston Bridge (another Medieval structure) to end the walk.
