Old Soar Manor

Starting at the Kentish Rifleman pub we walk through orchards via Stricklands Wood and up on to Hurst Wood hill. Then, turning anti-clockwise, walk towards Plaxtol via the Old Soar Manor. This is a National Trust property, dating from 1290 and is what's left of a medieval knight's house; entry is free - 15 minutes is allowed for viewing. Then return to the pub.
