Oldbury Hill and Ightham circular

Set off from NT car park, where we climb up to one of the more dramatic Hill Forts in England, the area has had settlements there for over 55,000 years.  Our early drink stop at St Peter’s Church, Ightham where you'll find a memorial to Dame Dorothy Selby, one time owner of Igtham Mote.  We then pass a lovely 15th century Hall House, a memorial to a fallen Polish fighter pilot at Crowhurst Farm before walking through mostly woodland bridleways, along the River Bourne and orchards to Ightham Mote, where at 7.5 miles into our walk we stop for lunch.  A steep climb back through woodland on the edge of the old Ightham quarry back to start point.
