Through ancient woods, pretty villages and across two golf courses

This is a 'figure of 8' walk, starting at St. Mary's Platt. The morning leg is about 5.5, the afternoon leg about 5 miles long.

From the starting point at The Blue Anchor pub we walk on the the Weald Way through ancient Hurst Wood on our way towards Plaxtol. We cross orchards and continue through the village of Plaxtol to Yopps Green and Basted. We will stop for lunch or a drink at The Blue Anchor, which concludes the morning walk.

At about 1.30 p.m.we set off through Platt Woods and cross Wrotham Heath Golf course before reaching the edge of Great Leybourne Wood, which leads us to Offham, another attractive village with its the famous 'quintain'. We return to St. Mary's Platt after crossing the A20 and West Malling Golf Course, with the last stretch on the WW again.

The paths will be muddy after rain, and there are some minor hills in the morning, but the afternoon leg is almost entirely flat. 4 stiles for the morning half and no stiles for the second half of the walk.
